Joseph Campbell called Sanskrit "the great spiritual language of the world." Newari script - The Newari script also known as the Ranjana script is used for writing the Newari language of Nepal. It is a Brahmic script and shows similarities to the Devanagari script of northern India and Nepal.

Assamese script - Assamese script belongs to Brahmic family of scripts and very similar to Devanagari. Srimanta Sankardeva and other Bhakti poets used Brajavali script for compositions in late 15th and 16th century which is older version of Assamese script.

Gujarati script - The Gujarati script, which like all Nagari writing systems is strictly speaking an abugida rather than an alphabet, is used to write the Gujarati language and the Kutchi language. It resembles Devanagari script without the line. A few letters are different, such as e (when not preceded by a consonant), l, and j.

Bengali script - The Bengali script is an Abugida system of writing belonging to the Brahmic family of scripts whose use is associated with the Bangla, Assamese, Manipuri and Sylheti languages. While it is very similar to Devanagari, it is less blocky and presents a more sinuous shaping, and is derived from a precursor of that script called Nagari.
